Here are displayed a large number of the sketches of paintings, frescoes and other decorations embellishing the nave and aisles of the Basilica and its chapels before and after its latest destruction.
Neapolitan paintings of the 18th century predominate, also because Montecassino was under the Reign of the Two Sicilies. Special attention should be paid to the sketch by L. Giordano (miracle of the flour), the original of which was in the Basilica vault.
